500-Point tech Killer — Firewall Bypass triangles, Bolt punishes, and Rift cuts.

Badware Die of Death — tech Killer overview

Badware Die of Death is the 500-Point tech Killer — the cheapest paid unlock and the roster's snowball specialist. He places PCs with Firewall Bypass, patrols speed aura zones, and finishes with Bolt charges and Rift teleports.

Players searching badware die of death usually want to know if the 500-Point price beats Pursuer, how Bolt damage scales, and why high-level Badware looks "boring." The answer: PC triangles beat flashy chases when Civilians cannot destroy your network.

This page covers stats, all four skills, camping routes, and Fashionably Late balance notes (July 18, 2026). Full roster context lives on the killers hub.

Badware

Badware unlock cost & value

Badware costs 500 Points — first paid step on the how to unlock killers path. Many players buy him before Artful (700) or Harken (880) to learn Killer macro without spending the full 3080 Points roster price upfront.

Community killers tier list bands often place Badware B-tier: weaker in high-skill chase lobbies, strong when Civilians ignore PC maintenance.

Badware abilities — Swing, Firewall Bypass, Bolt, Rift

Badware's kit rewards setup time. Fashionably Late added stun immunity windows on Firewall Bypass placement and successful Rift teleports — baiting early Punch wastes Civilian cooldowns.

Firewall Bypass — your win condition

On use, Badware roots briefly and spawns a PC at his feet. Standing near PCs grants stacking sprint bonuses; up to six can exist. Civilians clicking a PC add progress — at 100% the PC breaks. Idle PCs regress over time.

Place nodes in traffic lanes but out of easy line-of-sight: The HQ underground, church corners on Grandma's Backyard, or loop shortcuts Civilians must cross. Never scatter PCs across split maps without patrol.

Bolt — stamina recovery charge

Bolt telegraphs with audio, then rushes forward at boosted speed. Base damage starts around 10 and adds roughly +5 per PC you have placed — two PCs make Bolt hit like an M1. You steer during the charge and regain stamina while rushing.

Use Bolt when stamina-low outside your aura, not as opening damage. With 2+ PCs, commit Bolt for kills; whiffing has shorter endlag than hitting. Shift lock helps corner cuts and block baits.

Rift — cut losses, don’t spam

Rift freezes Badware, warns all Civilians, and lets you click a PC icon to teleport — destroying that PC but granting a large speed spike. Nearby Civilians take bleed for ~10 seconds. Requires at least one PC; zero PCs means Rift is disabled.

Best use: a far PC is about to hit 100% sabotage — Rift on your terms for the speed burst, then chase the saboteurs. Spamming Rift when nobody is near the node wastes your snowball.

Badware PC network & snowball strategy

High-Elo badware die of death gameplay looks like security-camera routing: you are never far from a triangle of PCs. Civilians must destroy nodes or outscale your speed aura — most lobbies fail both.

  • Do01Triangle PCs before you hunt
  • Do02Camp legs — respond when progress ticks up
  • Do03Chip first, commit kills inside aura
  • Do04Bolt for gap close, not opening trash damage
  • Do05Rift only when a PC is lost anyway

Opening minute — FNAF routing

Round start: place PC #1 in high traffic, camp until Firewall Bypass returns, then place PC #2 close enough to patrol both but far enough to cover ground. Repeat until you have a triangle — Civilians touching any leg trigger your boosted response.

Chip with Swing and Bolt pokes while camping. Do not hard chase to empty map sides until multiple survivors are low — leaving the triangle lets coordinated teams delete every PC.

Mid-round — when to kill

Once chip damage stacks or you hold 4–6 PCs, chase inside your aura radius. Finish low targets fast; if they kite to a PC-free zone, Bolt once then return to patrol instead of endless cross-map sprints.

Patient Badware beats juke-heavy Dash Decks — wait for stamina mistakes, Bolt, then M1 during endlag.

Maps, modes & special rounds

Badware Die of Death map strength depends on whether you can hold one continuous zone.

Map / modeRatingWhy
The HQ / BackyardATight lanes favor PC triangles
BaseplateCSplit sides — far PCs die unattended
Temple post-boulderCBridge break splits the map
Double TroubleAPC aura speeds partner Killer too

Double Trouble support

In Double Trouble, your PCs buff allied Killers as well. Pair with Pursuer or Harken rushdown — they chase while you maintain the speed network. Dual Badware lobbies saturate the map with nodes; communicate PC locations to avoid overlapping Rifts.

Badware Die of Death FAQ

Answers for badware die of death and die of death badware searches.

Is Badware worth 500 Points?

Yes if you like macro and zoning. For pure chase learners, Pursuer (free) or Artful may feel smoother — see the killers tier list.

How does Bolt damage scale?

Bolt base damage rises with each active PC you placed — roughly +5 per computer, so two PCs match Swing damage and three or more turn Bolt into a finisher.

Why do PCs disappear?

Civilians interact to raise progress to 100%, or PCs decay if ignored. Patrol and Rift before enemies finish the hack.

Is Badware a snowball Killer?

He snowballs when PCs stay alive — not automatically. Unchecked triangles win; destroyed networks leave you at 23 sprint. Skilled teams treat him as a race to sabotage.
