Die of Death controls

Die of Death Controls

Die of Death controls for PC and mobile: movement, ability HUD keys, emotes, Kind Mode, Epilepsy Mode, and AFK settings. Tips verified July 2026.

PC movement, ability HUD slots, emotes, and Kind Mode before your first round.

Die of Death controls reference

Die of Death controls follow standard Roblox movement on PC and touch layouts on mobile, with round-specific ability HUD slots and lobby toggles for Kind Mode, Epilepsy Mode, and AFK Mode. This page is the input map new players search alongside the beginner guide.

1 Killer vs up to 8 Civilians — asymmetrical horror parody on Roblox with random Deck abilities and Evilness rotation. Civilians bind two Abilities from their Deck pick; Killers always use four fixed skills. Key labels appear on the HUD at round start — verify binds after the Fashionably Late update (July 18, 2026).

Master movement here, then branch to gamemodes for Evil Scary flashing (pair with Epilepsy Mode) and evilness guide for rotation settings tied to Kind Mode.

Die of Death movement and camera

Locomotion is Roblox-standard with horror chase tuning — sprint stamina and Killer proximity matter more than exotic keybinds.

Input (PC)ActionNotes
W / A / S / DMovePrimary locomotion — hold direction to juke
MouseLook / cameraOptional Shift Lock in Roblox settings
SpaceJumpVault low obstacles — confirm bind in Roblox → Settings
Left ShiftSprintStamina-dependent — do not burn early on spawn
Roblox menuReset / leaveUse between rounds, not mid-chase

Camera and shift lock

Most PC players enable Shift Lock in Roblox settings for cleaner chases around Artful walls and Badware turrets. Mobile relies on drag-look — reduce Roblox camera sensitivity if Evil Scary disorients you.

Spectator goggles in the lobby use the same movement keys — practice map sight lines on maps before queuing ranked-style lobbies.

Between-round etiquette

AFK Mode (lobby settings) prevents idle kicks while you read Killer bios in the shop. It does not pause live rounds — toggle before stepping away, not during a hunt.

Die of Death ability keys

Ability buttons render on the HUD once you lock a Deck (civilians) or spawn as Killer. Cooldown icons sit next to each slot — watch them before committing to a stun.

BothBasic attack / M1Separate from ability keys — mind end-lag on whiffs

Civilian HUD

Your two skills map to on-screen buttons (PC click or tap on mobile). Punch, Revolver, Dash, and synergy pairs like Loveshot each occupy a slot with independent cooldowns. Missed Punch swings punish with end-lag — only fire inside stun range.

BonusPad and Caretaker require floor placement — find flat ground before the Killer closes. Full skill breakdowns: abilities hub and synergies.

Killer HUD

Killers never draft Decks — all four abilities are fixed per character. Preview kits in the lobby book icon, then drill one Killer on the killers hub before spending 3080 Points on the full roster.

Pursuer is free for control practice. Paid Killers like Harken add noise-meter management — still the same four-button HUD layout every round.

Die of Death emotes

Emotes are cosmetic — but loud animations feed Harken noise and draw chase attention in Evil Scary lobbies. Use them in safe pockets, not mid-rescue.

How to open the emote wheel

Press G on PC or tap the emote icon on mobile to open the Roblox emote wheel. Five base emotes ship with the experience; cosmetic emotes from other Roblox items may not appear in-round.

After Fashionably Late, emote UI labels shifted slightly on mobile — if G fails, open Roblox → Experience Menu → Emotes once, then retry.

Die of Death lobby buttons

Lobby Die of Death controls are UI toggles, not combat binds — learn them before your first Deck pick.

Kind Mode and accessibility

These lobby toggles change how Die of Death controls feel more than any rebind — set them once per session.

SettingEffectBest for
Kind ModeDisables Evilness Killer rotationCasual civilian-only nights
Epilepsy ModeReduces flashing VFXEvil Scary and photosensitive players
AFK ModePrevents lobby idle kickShop browsing / Discord breaks

Kind Mode vs Evilness

Kind Mode stops Evilness from promoting you to Killer — ideal when learning controls and civilian Deck picks without hunt pressure. Hosts enable it in lobby settings alongside other toggles.

When Kind Mode is off, aggressive stuns and long survival raise Evilness — see evilness guide for rotation strategy. Kind Mode does not disable abilities or emotes.

Epilepsy Mode and Evil Scary

Evil Scary gamemodes crank horror intensity. Enable Epilepsy Mode before queueing if flashing lights trigger discomfort — details on gamemodes.

Epilepsy Mode trims VFX; it does not remove jump scares entirely. Take breaks between rounds if audio stress spikes.

Die of Death controls on mobile

Roblox mobile HUD mirrors PC Die of Death controls — virtual thumbstick, jump button, ability slots, and emote icon. Button scale varies by device; landscape helps ability accuracy.

Reduce Roblox camera sensitivity if Killer proximity spins disorient you. Touch stuns (Punch, Revolver) need tighter aim than PC — practice in Kind Mode lobbies first.

Voice chat (where enabled) helps call Deck picks when typing mid-chase fails. Join Discord for LFG that respects mobile players.

Die of Death control tips

Set Kind Mode, Epilepsy Mode, and AFK Mode before queue — not mid-round.

Screenshot your ability HUD on first Deck pick each patch — labels move occasionally.

Use goggles spectate to learn map loops without feeding Evilness.

Keep Shift Lock on PC for consistent jukes around Implement walls and Badware PCs.

Emote with G only when Harken is not hunting — taunts and gunshots fill her noise meter.

Rebind Space / jump in Roblox settings if ability buttons overlap on small laptops.

  • Do01WASD move · Space jump · Shift sprint — confirm Roblox binds.
  • Do02Read two civilian ability labels at round start.
  • Do03Kind Mode ON for first five civilian rounds.
  • Do04Epilepsy Mode ON before Evil Scary queues.
  • Do05G or emote button — never mid-chase unless safe.
  • Do06AFK Mode before shop / Discord breaks in lobby.
